NATIONAL STANDARDS LABORATORY

Pressure

The Institute designated as custodian of the national standard in Pressure is managed by the National Aeronautics Company of Chile, ENAER, who has been dedicated to metrology in this area for more than 30 years. In 1999 they were designated to implement a laboratory specialized in pressure measurements, a process that culminated in 2003 with the accreditation of the laboratory in charge of this implementation.

ENAER, as administrator of the Designated Pressure Institute, has the responsibility of safeguarding and managing the National Pressure Standards as stated in the Supreme Decree No. 76 issued on April 21, 2003 by the Ministry of Economy.

Currently this Laboratory can issue Calibration certificates, as established in the DAkkS DKD-5 guide, accredited ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by DAkkS (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH) German Accreditation Body, with Registration number 15211-01-00.

Humidity

The Institute designated as custodian of the national standard for Humidity is managed by the National Aeronautics Company of Chile, ENAER. The objective is to ensure traceability to the International System of Units (SI) of measurements related to the magnitude of Relative Humidity and Dew Point that are carried out in the country. All industries that need to measure humidity, which have a direct and indirect relationship with the magnitude, both in production processes, in air conditioning companies, in quality control of raw materials, products, etc., as well as those testing and calibration laboratories accredited according to ISO 17025, with their quality management system certified in ISO 9001, may require the Services of this Organization.

In 2012, the process of implementing the laboratory's measurement and calibration capabilities in accordance with the ISO 17025 standard was completed, and in 2014, ENAER underwent an accreditation audit under the ISO 17025 standard carried out by the German accreditation body, DAkkS, being accredited as a Designated Institute in the magnitude of Relative Humidity and Dew Point.

The ENAER National Standards Custodian Laboratory, within the framework of an agreement with the National Institute for Standardization (INN), has the capacity for Calibration of Thermohygrometers, Calibration Capacity for Dew Point Meters, Recorders, Digital Indicators, Temperature Sensors, Humidity Sensors, Determination of Humidity in Solids, Grains, Wood and Foods in the Fruit area.
