ENAER

MANUFACTURING

ENAER is internationally recognized in the manufacturing of aircraft and aerostructures, operating throughout the world. We invite you to take a closer look at our manufacturing capabilities and our main products.

AIRCRAFT AND AEROSTRUCTURE MANUFACTURING

ENAER is the manufacturer of the T-35 Pillan, a proven flight training system that trains military pilots for the Ecuadorian Navy, the National Aeronaval Service of Panama, the Dominican Air Force, the Salvadoran Air Force, the Guatemalan Air Force, the Paraguayan Air Force, and the Spanish Air Force, under the name Tamíz; and of course, it has been the primary training aircraft for the Chilean Air Force, totaling over 300,000 hours of training flight.

It also carried out the manufacture of the C-101 Halcón fleet for the Chilean Air Force, in conjunction with CASA-EADS, and has been part of important international joint projects with EMBRAER, with the delivery of more than 1,100 tail units for the ERJ-135/145 passenger aircraft, 70 rear units for the C-235 and C-295 aircraft for CASA-EADS AIRBUS GROUP; the lower fairing for the DASSAULT AVIATION FALCON executive jets and the nose unit for the ECLIPSE 500 jet.

ENAER is authorized to manufacture parts and pieces for the HÉRCULES C-130 aircraft, through the LOCKHEED MARTIN Hologram program.

During 2018, ENAER designed and manufactured auxiliary fuel tanks for FACH Twin Otter aircraft, completing the delivery of three auxiliary fuel tanks for this flight material. This work put the Company's Engineering and Manufacturing capabilities to the test, considering that there were no formal design plans to carry out this work, achieving a 100% ENAER solution.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Chilean National Aeronautics Company has won the Supplier of the Year trophy in the category of “Best manufacturer of aircraft structures and internal parts”, awarded by the Brazilian Aeronautics Company EMBRAER, among its more than 300 supplier companies worldwide.

FACILITIES

ENAER has all the necessary facilities in the area of aircraft and aerostructure manufacturing to cover the needs of both the company and its own products, as well as those of civil and military clients; also fulfilling the strategic maintenance requirements for the Chilean Air Force.

COMPOSITE MATERIALS

The Composite Materials Workshop has been dedicated exclusively to the Aerospace Market for 20 years, where we have developed a wide range of capabilities and processes, which include:
Manufacturing of parts and assemblies using structural bonding methods, wet-lay up and prepreg lamination techniques, tooling development and curing in ovens and autoclaves, as well as repair of all types of aeronautical parts with FAA authorization. All of the above, under the demanding ISO 9001/2000 and AS9100 standards, both of which are of international certification level.

The ENAER Composite Materials Area usually works with materials such as: Unidirectional filaments and Bidirectional fabrics based on carbon fiber (graphite), aramids (Kevlar®) and fiberglass in matrices of epoxy, phenolic and polyurethane resins.

ENAER offers inter-divisional solutions in combination with other production centers, acting as a source of solutions to customer requirements, which may include: corrosion resistance, increased fatigue life, weight elimination and/or high-strength components. Engineering analysis, tooling design and prototype manufacturing up to the replacement of metal parts and components with others made of composite materials, generally reducing weight, maintenance and extending the useful life of the aircraft, are an example of the application of this technology in search of reducing operation and maintenance costs, and improving the performance of the aircraft, applied for example in the T-35 PILLAN. Another example of advanced design, development engineering and specialized technique is the single-engine, two-seater Ñamcu / Eaglet aircraft, designed and produced at ENAER, manufactured entirely in composite materials and certified in Europe by the JAA. In addition, this area regularly manufactures parts for the Embraer ERJ145, Mirage-Pantera aircraft, various tools, and is certified by the FAA as a Major Component Repair center.

The Composite Materials Workshop of the Manufacturing Division has an area of approximately 1,000 m², divided into two internal areas, where the clean area (Laminating Room) and the workshop hangar are located, complying with the requirements demanded by the International and internal regulations of ENAER.

The Composite Materials Workshop has the following areas:

• Clean Room.
• Release agent application room.
• Engine Room.
• Cutting and finishing room.
• Climatized warehouse.
• Assembly Workshop.

The Staff working in the Composite Materials Workshop has DGAC Certification and ENAER Certification, for the Structural Bonding and Laminate processes. New capabilities are planned to be implemented for the Composite Materials Workshop, including:

• Honeycomb machining (5 axes).
• Surface treatments and painting.
• Manufacturing of all types of elementary parts.
• Manufacture of tooling.
• Measurement and alignment.
• Packaging.
• Destructive testing and NDT laboratories.

ENAER's composite materials workshop has the capacity to manufacture laminated parts of up to 7x3x3 m, made by manual lamination. It also has the capacity to manufacture parts of up to D=1.0 x 1.6 m, made of prepreg material laminate or structural bonding. In addition, we have the capacity to repair parts of any size, using the Hot Bonder 7170 machine repair technique.
